You’ll know why after this video. When I first did it both softwares were competent at content management with the nod going to Joomla’s ability to manage Sections and Categories better than WordPress.
And yes I knew that you could add a simple calendar and BBPress forum to WordPress, I had done that for clients.
But there were some things you just couldn’t do in WordPress that you could do in Joomla Membership sites and that’s what tipped the balance.
This is the original video that goes over “some” of those differences and most importantly goes over the key principal that you must consider when you are deciding what CMS to use with your membership site.
