Do You Sell Courses Online With LearnDash?
Many of our CampusWP.com customers who are selling courses online with LearnDash are excited today by the big changes Justin and the Crew have made to the way LearnDash handles videos in Lessons.
This is the first part of an even bigger redesign that is coming to the already great LMS software.
In previous versions video in lessons was handled the same way regular content was – it was just part of the the course description, lesson or topic. There was no granular control over where or when the videos showed up.
That changes today!
It is with great pleasure that I get to introduce you to the new LearnDash Guided Video functionality – an update that not only you will like but your learners will certainly appreciate as it improves their overall course experience. In short: less clicking, more learning.
According to Justin this is just part of a bigger change coming.
The settings you see above become visible when you select the Enable Video progression option on a Lesson or Topic. All you really have to do now is paste the video URL and you are (pretty much) done! You can use a URL from YouTube, Vimeo, or any video that is uploaded to your site’s Media folder. When the lesson is published the video will display at the top of your Lesson with perfect dimensions according to your theme.
You’ll even see an auto complete feature for lessons based on video actions, and the play bar being hidden for students trying to skip ahead!
Overall this is a big change that any subject matter expert should be considering when they want to sell courses online.
