Don’t Make Your Google Rankings A Joke!
April Fools day is coming soon…
but if you’re WordPress Blog isn’t ready for mobile visitors your traffic will be something to laugh at.
A recent Blog post from the Google Webmaster central Blog gave the final warning. Your WordPress blog has to be Mobile Ready. What does this really mean if you have a WordPress site?
Simple you’ll need a WordPress theme that is “Responsive”.
Your blog has to be displayed correctly ON any size screen, no matter what type of device it’s viewed on. We’re talking small screens, big screens, phones, tablets, notebooks, desktops, or even your TV.
Tuning In To A New Signal
How you rank on Google is determined by a number of characteristics, Google calls these signals. Their algorithm takes these weighted signals and uses them to determine where your site should be ranked. According to the Google WebMasters Blog post, beginning April 21 Google’s Search Algorithm will significantly alter the way sites are ranked for searches from mobile devices.
Bottom line for your WordPress Site and how it ranks! If your WordPress site isn’t mobile friendly and able to display the same content optimally no matter what size device your visitor is viewing it on, you will most likely see a significant drop in search referrals.
“This change will affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact in our search results. Consequently, users will find it easier to get relevant, high quality search results that are optimized for their devices.”
